Breakaway is a very straight away no bullshit song yang lengkap banget rasa oldies non tuanya. Dari slap bass yang typical fast-soul, sampe vintage piano melodius repeating ala Caldwell. Ditambah lagi ada suaranya salah satu dari vokalis modern favorit gue, the great Jessie Ware. Kedengeran banget dia gak perlu nyoba nyanyi sekuat tenaga ama full power banget di lagu ini, but damn, that’s the beauty of her and this song, subtle, fresh like a breeze, and classic. I mean, kalo bukan karena kejernihan audio dan rasa dari typical music modern, this track could easily comes out at the 70’s and still mencolok pada jaman itu juga.
